Installing
the application
NOTE: Please ensure
that you log into Windows as an Administrator before starting the installation.
After downloading the application setup file
ASLockUp.EXE, double click on the file to run the setup program that will
guide you through a simple installation process.
|

|
Running the
application To run PC Lock Up for configuring purpose, double click on the
application shortcut
at the following place:
- Windows Start Menu->Programs->Aquarius
Soft->PC Lock Up Pro
NOTE: The application shortcut is only
installed in the Start menu of the login user that installs the software. It is
not installed in other users' Start menu so as to make the software less obvious
to the other users.
Alternatively, you can activate the
software using the keyboard hotkey shortcut: Ctrl + Shift + Alt +
F10

Setup lock up times With PC Lock Up, you can configure the PC
lock up times that the PC cannot be used.
You can have all users use the same lock up
times settings or you can configure each user to have his/her own settings.
To enable lock up times:

Setup usage time limits With PC Lock Up, you can limit the PC usage
times for your children/users. You
can have all users use the same usage limits settings or you can configure each
user to have his/her own settings.
To
enable usage limits:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the Usage Limits page.
- If you want all your users use the same
usage limits settings, check the box. Otherwise, uncheck the box and select
the users to configure.
- Check the Enable usage time limits check
box.
- Select the day of the week to configure.
- Select the maximum usage time for the day.
- Select the maximum usage time for per
logon session.
- Select the minimum time interval between
login sessions.
- Select the usage time limit reached
option: log off the user or power off the PC.
Repeat the above steps for each day of the
week. To apply the current day's
usage time limits to all days, press Apply to all days.
To apply the current day's usage time limits to only weekdays, press Apply
to weekdays.
To apply the current day's usage limit to only weekends, press Apply to
weekends. |

Setup myopia control
PC Lock Up can helps you to take visual breaks
from the computer.
You can have all users use the same myopia
control settings or you can configure each user to have his/her own settings.
To enable myopia control:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the
Myopia Control page.
- If you want all your users use the same
myopia control settings, check the box. Otherwise, uncheck the box and
select the users to configure.
- Check the Enable myopia control check
box.
- Enter the number of minutes of computer
usage time before visual break is activate and the
Lock Up Screen is
displayed.
- Enter the duration of the visual break.

Password

Setup the password
The password is configured in the
Password page of the software.
The password is used for these purposes:
- To prevent others from changing the PC Lock
Up settings.
- To prevent others from uninstalling the
software.
- To close the Lock Up Screen when it appears.
If you forgot your password, send an
email to
support@aquariussoft.com with your order ID to request for an
alternate password. |

Activate Self-Control
You can use PC Lock Up to restrict you own
access to the PC for up to 24 hours. When activated, the
Lock Up Screen will
be displayed to block PC usage. To
activate self-control:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the
Self-Control page.
- Press the Activate Self-Control Now
button.
- You will be asked to select the number
of hours to lock up the PC. Select the number of hours to lock up the
PC.
- Press Activate Self-Control Now to
confirm.
Alternatively, to activate
self-control, you can press the keyboard hotkey shortcut: Ctrl +
Shift + Alt + F9 |

Closing
the Lock Up Screen When the
Lock Up Screen appears during lock up
times, if you have enabled the password edit box in the
Lock Up Screen, type the
password and press Enter. You will be prompt to select one of the following
options:
- Temporary disable lock up for half
an hour
- Temporary disable lock up for an
hour
- Completely disable lock up
- Configure PC Lock Up
- Cancel
Select the option you want.

Configure the Lock Up Screen
The Lock Up Screen is displayed when
self-control is activated and can be selected to be displayed during lock up
times.
You can have all users use the same
Lock Up Screen settings or you can configure each user to have his/her own settings.
To configure the Lock Up Screen:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the
Lock Up Screen page.
- If you want all your users use the same
Lock Up Screen settings, check the box. Otherwise, uncheck the box and
select the users to configure.
You can customize the following of the
Lock Up Screen:
- The background image and its display method
- The background and text color
- Whether to display the lock up voice alert
message
- The color of the text
- Whether to display a Shutdown PC Now and a
Log Off Now button
to allow your user to manually shutdown the PC or log off during lock up times
- Whether to show an edit box to enter the
password.
Click the Preview button to preview how the
Lock Up Screen will look like.
Hint:
If you want to make it difficult for your users to know about PC Lock Up, do not
enable the display of the Lock Up Screen or change the default provided.

Voice Alerts page

Configuring the voice alerts
You can enable and configure voice alerts to
notify your PC users of lock up events. For alerts that are played before an
event, you can set the number of minutes before the event to play the alert.
You can have all users use the same voice
alerts settings or you can configure each user to have his/her own settings.
To configure voice alerts:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the Voice Alerts page.
- If you want all your users use the same
voice alerts settings, check the box. Otherwise, uncheck the box and select
the users to configure.
- Enable or disable the voice alerts you
prefer by checking/unchecking the alert.
- Edit the alert message if necessary.
- Click the Preview button to preview the
alert.
Hint:
If you want to make it difficult for your users to know about PC Lock Up, do not
enable voice alerts or change their default messages.

Configure power saving features
PC Lock Up provides you several PC power saving
options.
You can have all users use the same power
saving settings or you can configure each user to have his/her own settings.
To configure the power saving features:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the Power Save page.
- If you want all your users use the same
power saving settings, check the box. Otherwise, uncheck the box and select
the users to configure.
- Enable/disable automatic off the monitor
after the Lock Up Screen is displayed for some time.
- Enable/disable automatic shutdown of the PC
after the Lock Up Screen is display for some time.
- Press the PC Power Options button to
configure more power saving options provided by the system.

Configure keyboard hotkeys
You can configure keyboard hotkeys to activate
self-control and to run the application.
To configure a hotkey for running the
application:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the Others page.
- Enter a keyboard combination to run the
application.
To configure a hotkey to activate self-control:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the Self-Control page.
- Enter a keyboard combination to activate
self-control.

Configure event logging
If you want to track if PC Lock Up is working
as you have set it up, you can enable the logging of its events.
To enable/disable event logging:
- Run PC Lock Up.
- Select the Others page.
- Enable/disable event logging by
checking/unchecking the Enable logging of lock up events.
Click the Open Log File button to view the
events.
When the log file grow big, it is recommended
that you clear it by clicking the Delete Log File button.

the application

Removing
the application
To remove the software from your system after
trying it:
- Exit the program
- Run the Control Panel from the Windows
Start Menu
- Open the "Add and Remove Programs"
- Select "Aquarius Soft PC Lock Up
Professional" and click Change/Remove
- Follow the instruction to remove the
program. You will need to supply the password in order to uninstall the
software.
