Installing the application
After downloading the application setup file ASCHLIST.EXE, double click on the file to run the setup program that will guide you through a simple installation process. You have the option to install the application shortcuts on the desktop and/or in the Windows Quick Launch Bar.

Running the application
To run the application, double click on the application shortcut at the following places:

• Windows Start Menu->Programs->Aquarius Soft->PC Checklist.
• Windows desktop (if you have chosen to create this shortcut during installation).
• Windows Quick Launch Bar (if you have chosen to create this shortcut during installation).

Knowing the main user interface

New a checklist

To new a checklist:

• press Ctrl+N to show the Create a New Checklist dialog
• To create an empty checklist, simply enter the checklist name and press OK.
• To create a checklist from a template, simply double click on the template.

New a checklist item

To new a checklist item:

• press the Add button (or Ctrl+A) to show the Add Checklist Item dialog
• To create a completely new checklist item, enter a new check list item and press OK
• To copy a checklist item from a template, select the template and double click on the template item you want to copy.

Open an existing checklist

To open an existing checklist, simply select it from the Checklist combo box or press Ctrl+O to show the Open a Checklist dialog to select the checklist.

Save as another checklist

To save the current checklist as another name:

• Press Ctrl+S to show the Save Checklist As dialog
• Enter a new name for the checklist and press OK

Saving checklist as a template

To save the current checklist as a template for future use:

• Press Ctrl+S to show the Save Checklist As dialog
• Select the Save as template radio button
• Enter a new template name and press OK

Send a checklist to your friends

You can send a checklist to your friends or colleagues:

• Click the Checklists button to popup a menu
• Select Send to Friends menu item to show the Send As dialog
• Select to send as a template or a checklist
• Press OK to attached the checklist/template to an email
• Pick your recipients and send the email.

Import Checklist or Template

When you download a checklist or receive one from your friend, you can import it into PC Checklists by:

• Click the Checklists button to popup a menu
• Select Import to show the Import Checklist(s) or Template(s) dialog
• Browse and select the checklist or template to import
• Press Open to import the selected checklist or template

A faster way to import checklist in an email is to simply double click on the checklist attachment in the email.

Export current checklist

To export current checklist to a text file:

• Click the Checklists button to popup a menu
• Select Export and select the location and enter the file name to export to

Export a template

To export a checklist template to a text file:

• Open the New Checklist dialog
• Select the checklist template to export
• Press the Export button
• Select Export and select the location and enter the file name to export to

Print current checklist

To export current checklist to a text file:

• Click the Checklists button to popup a menu
• Select Print

Print a template

To export a checklist template to a text file:

• Open the New Checklist dialog
• Select the template to export
• Press the Print button

Settings application options

Other application options can be set in the Options dialog.

To show the Options dialog:

• Click the System Menu to popup the application's system menu.

• Select Options... 

or

• Press F8.

General Options

The following general options can be set in the Options dialog's General page:

• Automatically move checked items to the end of the checklist

• Automatically delete checked items

• Set the windows to be always on top

• Show icon in the system tray when minimized

• Auto-snap window to the sides of the desktop

• Run application on windows startup

Personalizing application look
To customize the application background image and colors:

• Show the Options dialog.
• Select the Personalize Look page
• Check/uncheck the Enable background image to enable/disable application background image.
• Enter the location of your bitmap or click the Browse (...) Button to select your image.
• Select the display method of the background bitmap: Center/Stretch/Tile/Top-Left etc.
• Select the colors for the text and the background.
• Click OK to apply the changes.

Removing the application
To remove the software from your system after trying it, click the Remove Aquarius Soft PC Checklists shortcut  in Windows Start Menu->Programs->Aquarius Soft->PC Checklists.
